GOOD TIMES

EXAMPLE 1...

Indonesia and Singapore are working out the final details of a Defence Cooperation Agreement
to strengthen military ties. Indonesia and Singapore have enjoyed good defence ties for more than three decades and the Defence Cooperation Agreement to be signed between the two Asean neighbours will strengthen this relationship.
This is a way to strengthen the relationship of Singapore with other countries and to show that Singapore is ready to defend.

EXAMPLE 2...

Singapore has recently entered into Free Trade Agreements (‘FTAs’) with New Zealand, Australia, Japan, the European Free Trade Association (which comprises Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and the United States (‘USSFTA’) and is currently negotiating FTAs with Mexico, Canada, ASEAN, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, India and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This is done so that USSFTA will cement the already strong economic ties between Singapore and the US.
This shows another example of how Singapore can create strong economic ties between Singapore and other countries.

EXAMPLE 3...

Singapore is going to have the Integrated Resort (IR). This way, many foreigners will come and visit Singapore. When they come back to their country, they may share their experience in Singapore. Thus the Government of that country will be interested in Singapore thus making close friends and a good relationship bond with Singapore. This is another way to create a good relationship between Singapore with other countries.

EXAMPLE 4...

During the Tsunami disaster, Singapore helped the countries affected by the Tsunami by sending the SAF to help the injured and in need. Singaporeans also participate by packing food into boxes to be sent to the countries affected. Singapore also sent help to search for those missing from the disaster. This shows that Singapore is ready to help countries who are in trouble or needs aid.
